North Walsham & Dilham Canal

Restoration work continues on the North Walsham & Dilham Canal, both physically and, of equal importance, on the ’behind-the-scenes work with EA.
The flow calculations for the dry section were accepted by EAs hydrologist taking rewatering a step closer. Physical work is concentrated on the stretch above Bacton Wood Lock. Banks are being raised and a wooden quay heading has been reinstated adjacent to the closed Wherry Inn in readiness for rewatering.
Canoeing is very popular on the clear water of the restored Ebridge pound – public benefit in action!
